Wills & Estates
Wills
Buying and selling houses, holidays and having children are the biggest reasons to have a valid Will arranged by a professional. Don’t put your faith in the newsagency/free “will pack” for the big things, they are dangerous and fraught with problems.

Many clients do not realise the impact of divorce, re-marriage, blended families or the way they hold their assets can cause unintended consequences or open up their estate to challenges. It's worth having your Will prepared by a professional, to ensure what you have goes to who you want.

Powers of Attorney
Occasionally illness or injury strikes, limiting what we can do. The appointment of someone you trust as your Attorney can help you retain your independence while receiving the important assistance you need for your personal and financial matters.

Powers of Attorney don’t need to be immediate and you can set yours so it only becomes active if you are incapacitated. If you suspect you may need one, contact us so you can be sure.

Elder Law
If your family member is suffering from an incapacity (with no Power of Attorney in place) or you fear they are being taken advantage of – there are avenues available.

Administration or Guardianship may be an option, and we have experience in having family appointed or removed as legal Administrators/Guardians.

Deceased Estates
Estate administration has its own rules and challenges. Whilst most have a Will in place with their wishes, many do not, or their Will is not sufficient.

We have extensive experience in estate issues, including:
-
Estate administration (Probate and Letters of Administration)
-
Informal Wills and Intestacy
-
Probate Re-sealing (use of Grants of Probate in other States and Territories)
-
Challenging Wills (Part IV Claims)
-
Trusts
